White House swimming pool during the Eisenhower administration. Jan. 27, 1956. It was installed in 1933 to allow the President Franklin Roosevelt to exercise regularly. JFK swam in a highly heated pool for his bad back. Richard Nixon converted it into a Press Room. - (BSLOC_2014_16_243)
