White Star Lines S.S. Olympic completing her maiden voyage to New York on June 21, 1911. The sister ship to the S.S. Titanic averaged 21.17 knots on the Atlantic crossing. Unaccustomed to the ships scale and power, one tugboat had her stern post, tail shaft, and screw torn of by the Olympias starboard propeller. Captain E.C. Smith and Bruce Ismay were in the same roles they assumed 10 months later on the S.S. Titanic
