Woman at Her Toilet, by Jan Steen, 1655-60, Dutch painting, oil on panel. Young woman pulling off a stocking as she undresses. Her raised skirt allows the viewer a peak up along her bare legs. In the early 19th century, an underskirt was painted over the Steen original to cover her thighs (BSLOC_2016_3_249)
