X-10 Graphite Reactor's was the world's second artificial nuclear reactor. Photo shows the x-10's concrete face at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. After WW2, the graphite reactor became the first facility in the world to provide radioactive isotopes for peacetime use. It produced the isotopes iodine-131, phosphorus-32, and carbon-14, for scientific, medical, industrial, and agricultural uses. Graphite Reactor at X-10 was shut down in 1963, after twenty years of use. (BSLOC_2015_2_24)
