Victorian widow, Mrs Isabel Lort Mansel

A Victorian widow, Mrs Lort Mansel (1789-1866), who came from an old Welsh family. Seen here in black dress and white bonnet, with a book in her hand. She is Isabel (also called Isabella) Mansel, widow of the Rev Lort Mansel of Minsterworth. She died at Tenby, aged 76. Her maiden name was also Mansel -- she and her husband were first cousins; they had no children. Her father was Bishop of Bristol and Master of Trinity College Cambridge, William Lort Mansel
