Accident - Commercial Union Assurance Company Building
The Commercial Union Assurance Company Building, Cornhill, London fell at midnight on 6th August 1927. Being a Saturday the premises were empty and nobody was killed or injured. Details in the city press and the Times list the possible cause as underground rivers and artesian wells being blocked up by underground railway (tube tunnel) building. One entire side of the building fell into the street and an adjoining building site
