Alexandre Baudot - Malakoff Historical Clarion - Bugler
Mr. Jean Louis Alexandre Baudot (1834-1911), delegate of the Society of Combatants of Gravelotte and the Army of the Rhine, at the Commemorative Ceremony on August 16 at Mars-la-Tour. Veteran bugler at the taking of Malakoff 1855 (Crimea) and Ladonchamps, October 7, 1870 (near Metz) - Franco-German War of 1870-1. Baudot, entered the military service as a volunteer in the 1st regiment of Zouaves in 1852, as a bugler, took part in all campaigns of the Second Empire including the seat of Sevastopol in Crimea. Sounded the charge to Malakoff's assault (1855) which earned him to be known as the "Malakoff Historical Clarion"
