Arts League of Service Travelling Theatre - En Bateau
Arts League of Service - The Travelling Theatre - En Bateau - an absurdity. The Travelling Theatre performed a repertory of short plays by first-class authors such as Yeata, Synge, Galsworthy, Tchekov and Shaw, as well as of folk-songs and shanties, dances, mimes and expressionist recitations! Founded in a spirit of idealism after the First World War, the Arts League of Service set itself the task of placing within the reach of everyone higher forms of entertainment, and opportunities for the enjoyment of any art or craft. Its motto was: To bring the Arts into Everyday Life
