Bathing on the banks of the River Ganges at Benares. This card also shows the Raja Jai Singh Observatory. The massive structure was one of a number of astronomical observatories built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh (1688 - 1743), ruler of the kingdom of Amber (later called Jaipur)
