Beyazid II Kulliye in Edirne, Turkey. A kulliye is an Ottoman architectural concept/term designating a complex of buildings centred around a mosque. Bayezid II Kulliye was built in 1488 by the Ottoman sultan Bayezid II (reigned 1481-1512). Edirne - formerly Adrianople - close to the border with Greece and Bulgaria. Site of 16 major battles or sieges from Ancient Greek times up until the 1920s. According to popular mythology the city was built by Agamemnon
