Combe Gibbet - top of Gallows Down, Berkshire
Combe Gibbet at the summit of Gallows Down, near the village of Combe in Berkshire (formerly Hampshire). On March 7th 1676, adulterous lovers George Bromham (or Broomham) and Dorothy Newman were hanged on this gibbet for the murder of two of the women's children
