Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II - presentation of sceptre
Royal Wedding cake made by Huntley and Palmers (of Reading, Berkshire) for Princess Elizabeth (later Queen Elizabeth II) on the occasion of her marriage to Phillip Mountbatten, Duke of Edinburgh in 1947. The icing department worked continuously for three weeks on the cake which was originally designed to weigh 400lb! In the end Buckingham Palace requested a reduced austerity cake of only 195lb... The cake was created/decorated by Jack Bryant (Head confectioner) with the help of his father William Bryant
