Muslim Auxiliary crew of the auxiliary cruiser of the Imperial German Navy SMS Mowe ('Seagull'), under the command of Lt. Commander Nikolaus Burggraf, Graf ('Count') zu Dohna-Schlodien. The crew were far better able to cope with the heat of combat operations in the southern hemisphere and the ship under the command of zu Dohna achieved a number of spectacular successes
