Dr. Taylor's Memorial, Aldham Common, Hadleigh, Essex - erected in 1819 by rivate subscription. Rowland Taylor (sometimes Tayler) (1510-1555) was an English Protestant martyr during the Marian Persecutions.Taylor became Queen Mary I's third Protestant to be burned at the stake. His execution took place on 9th February 1555, at Aldham Common just to the north of Hadleigh, the location now marked by this memorial
