Edirne - formerly Adrianople, Turkey
Edirne - formerly Adrianople - close to the border with Greece and Bulgaria. Site of 16 major battles or sieges from Ancient Greek times up until the 1920s. According to popular mythology the city was built by Agamemnon. Site of the Selimiye Mosque built in 1575, designed by Mirmar Sinan
