Edward, HRH Prince of Wales (later King Edward VIII 1894-1972) wearing the Robes of the Garter. Taken at Windsor Castle by David Knights Whittome on June 10th 1911 after the Investiture. Below the left knee is the Garter with the inscription, Honi-soit-qui-mal-y-pense in choice diamonds, which formerly belonged to the late Duke of Cambridge and bequeathed by him to Prince Edward. The Tudor hat contains the plumes of the Prince of Wales
