General Prendergast winning the Victoria Cross at Betwah
General Sir Harry North Dalrymple Prendergast (1834-1913) winning the Victoria Cross for his actions at Mundisore (where he saved the life of Lieutenant Dew) and at Betwah (Betwa) on 1st April 1858 where he distinguished himself during the brave charge made by the 14th Light Dragoons (now Hussars), against the rebel army of Tantia Topee (Tatya Tope) during the Indian Mutiny (1857-58)
