Henry Hudson sails up the Hudson River

Henry Hudson (1570? - 1611?), English sea explorer and navigator, sailing the Half Moon discovers the Hudson River in September 1609. Sent in 1909, this card celebrated the 300th anniversary of Hudson's voyage. Hudson's explorations of the Hudson River laid the foundation for Dutch colonization of the region
