Hurdy-Gurdy - a grinding organ, originating in France. the sound is produced by the vibration of the strings maintained by the friction of the wheel bringing them in contact. Melody is formed by keys stopping certain notes, whilst other continue the drone, in an effect similar to Bagpipes
