Lannion, France - Rue de Treguier
Lannion, France - Rue de Treguier. The cross (lower left) marks the spot where the heroic Breton nobleman Geoffroy de Pont-Blanc died in the defense of Lannion against the English in 1346, during the Breton War of Succession. This was a conflict between the Houses of Blois and Montfort for control of the Duchy of Brittany, fought between 1341 and 1364, which formed an integral part of the early Hundred Years War (due to the involvement of the French and English governments in the conflict)
