Mafeking, South Africa - Standard Bank, School and De Kock's Buildings. Scene of the famous siege during the Boer War, which last from October 1899 to May 1900. The front of this card (sent in 1903) is interesting - it bears the following text: I have just been visiting B.P's (Baden Powell's) forts, look-outs, trenches and other interesting monuments of the famous siege. Look out for unexploded shells when I return (!!)
