Monument to Piers Gaveston at Blacklow Hill
Monument to Piers Gaveston (1284-1312), 1st Earl of Cornwall and favourite of Kng Edward II of England, near Warwick. In 1823, a cross (pictured here) was erected at Blacklow Hill by local squire, Bertie Greathead, at the place believed to be the location of Gaveston's execution
