Ruins of a church at Ekshi Su (Xino Nero), Greece
The remains of a church at Ekshi Su (today Xino Nero, Greece - in the municipality of Amyntaio, prefecture of Florina and region of West Macedonia), during the Lerin offensive operation during WW1. The village had been in the Ottoman Empire up to the start of the 20th century. It was ruled by Bulgaria after the First Balkan War, becoming part of Greece after the Second Balkan War. During the First World War in August 1916 the village was briefly occupied by the First Army (Bulgaria). During fighting the church of the village was destroyed
