The Russian Summer Embassy at Buyukdere, Constantinople, Turkey on the Bosphorus beyond Tarabya. Standing at the North end of a large Bay - its Turkish name means Large Valley while in Byzantine times it was known as Kalos Agros - the beautiful meadow'. A lovely fertile valley with fine old trees through which a road leads to the Belgrad Forest
