The Senator - Big Tree Park, Longwood, Florida, USA - the biggest and oldest bald cypress tree in the world 125 feet (38 m) tall at the time of its demise, with a trunk diameter of 17.5 feet (5.3 m). The tree was thought to have been destroyed by a fire from a lightning strike, but it was later discovered that the fire was started by an arsonist. Estimated to be 3, 500 years old, making it the 5th oldest tree in the world
