Thessaloniki - Greece - The Heptapyrgion Fortress
The Heptapyrgion (modern Eptapyrgio), also known by its Ottoman Turkish name Yedi Kule - a Byzantine and Ottoman-era fortress situated on the north-eastern corner of the acropolis of Thessaloniki in Greece. In both languages the translation is "Fortress of Seven Towers", however it actually features ten, and was probably named after the Yedikule Fortress in Istanbul, Turkey
