Turkey - Marmaris
Turkey - view of houses on the waterfront and the fort at Marmaris in the province of Caria. The ancient name for Marmaris was Physkos - part of the Rhodian Empire during the reign of Alexander the Great. Came under Ottoman control in the mid 16th century. In 1552 Suleiman challenged the Knights of St. John and captured Marmaris
