Battle of the Plains of Abraham or Battle of Quebec. Began on 13th September 1759, the battle was fought on a plateau by the British Army and Royal Navy against the French Army, just outside the walls of Quebec City, Canada. Part of the Seven Years War. British troops were commanded by General James Wolfe, the French by General Montcalm. Both generals were mortally wounded in the battle
