Cunard Line, superb and highly impressive carved oak Cunard Line rampant Lion holding a globe aloft and stood upon a coil of rope by Gerry Holzman as signed to the underside G HOLZMAN 69. The octagonal base bears plaques for SAMUEL CUNARD 1787-1865, BRITANNIA 1840, PERSIA 1856, BOTHNIA 1874, MAURETANIA 1907, QUEEN MARY 1936, QUEEN ELIZABETH 1940, and QUEEN ELIZABETH 1969 This piece was originally believed to have been purchased from the daughter of the Managing Director of Cunard America. He received it as a retirement present in 1969. Weighs 7kg. Measures 20 ins. high
