Iceberg that collided with the Titanic

A photograph of the iceberg believed to be the one that RMS Titanic collided with. The photograph was taken a day after the disaster by the chief steward of the steamer, Prinz Adalbert. Although at that time those on board the Prinz Adalbert were unaware of the Titanic tragedy, they did observed scrapings of red paint on the iceberg. The photograph came with a statement by the steward and three other crew members. It was acquired by Burlingham, Montgomery and Beecher, attorneys for the White Star Line and hung on the firm's wall from 1913 to 2002. It was auctioned by Titanic specialists, Henry Aldridge and Son in October 2015
