White Star Line, RMS Olympic, dinner menu card (back)
Signed First Class dinner menu card (back) for Titanic's sister ship RMS Olympic dated September 20th 1911. This is a significant date as Olympic collided with Royal Naval cruiser HMS Hawke, resulting in damage to the latter and repairs needed for the Olympic. Olympic returned to Harland and Wolff in Belfast for repair with manpower transferred from Titanic to ensure her return to sea as soon as possible, leading to a brief delay in Titanic's construction schedule. This menu was the personal property of the May brothers, First Class passengers on the Titanic, bearing their signatures together with Herbert Odell's on the reverse. 6 ins
