White Star Line, Titanic, blue and gilt dessert plate (back)

White Star Line, RMS Titanic. Arguably one of the most important White Star Line porcelain items in private hands today. A Spode R4331 OSNC (Oceanic Steam Navigation Company) cobalt blue and gilt dessert plate (back), a pattern known in some circles as The Millionaires Service for use exclusively on Titanic and Olympic. A handful of cups and saucers are known in the style but this plate is even rarer, bearing the gilt OSNC initials at the centre. It is thought that this is the only OSNC example outside of the Spode Museum and the Titanic wreck site. 9ins. Thank you to Steve Santini for additional research on this piece
