A group of Hollywood celebrities, including the American film actress Mildred Shay (centre, 1911-2005) who is wearing a Hardy Amies suit with the words Made in England stitched along the lapels. With her are the American actor John Garfield (1913-1952), her British husband Geoffrey Steele (standing, in uniform, d. 1987), and the Irish-American actress Geraldine Fitzgerald (1913-2005)
