The Prince of Wales at Annevoie Castle
The Prince of Wales (later King Edward VIII, then Duke of Windsor) at Annevoie Castle (Chateau d'Annevoie). Belgium sitting rather informally, cross-legged on the floor. Taken between the signing of the Armistice on the 11th November 1918, and the date of Demobilisation, May 1st 1919. Photograph in the collection of silhouette artist Harry Lawrence Oakley, who cut the Prince's silhouette during this visit (as well as accompanying the Prince singing Polly-wolly-doodle!)
