The Artistic Smoker by H M Bateman
The Artistic Smoker by H M Bateman - or, Practice Makes Perfect. An artist teaching himself to blow smoke rings. His easel is abandoned in the background. Sitting in his armchair he practices more and more elaborate smoke patterns. A knot, question mark, exclamation mark, duck, dancing woman, a man. Eventually a whole farmyard with cow, milkmaid and chickens. His wife or housekeeper looks on in admiration
