Aircraft Firefighters School based at Stansted, Essex, where men and women from around the world were trained. Old aircraft were deliberately set ablaze to give crews realistic training opportunities. Seen here are two instructors inspecting the remains of an aeroplane (Avro Lincoln B Mk 2 Serial No RF533, used as a flying laboratory after the war) some time after the flames have been extinguished
