People in the cafe, several of them in wheelchairs, at the Horder Centre, founded by Mrs Cecilia Bochenek (?-1981). Despite being crippled by arthritis and confined to a wheelchair, Mrs Bochenek and her friend, Dr Joyce Peake, set up the Horder recuperative home at Crowborough in East Sussex, specifically for people with arthritis.
