Joanna Southcott
Print of the engraving of Joanna Southcott by William Sharp, dated 12 January 1812. Starting as a Methodist, she became a prophetess. She left (after her death) a seled wooden box, not to be opened until a time of national crisis. Opened in 1927, the box was found to contain a few oddments and unimportant papers, amongst them a lottery ticket! HPF/5C/42
