The Crown Jewels, Tower of London
The Crown Jewels on display at the Tower of London in the purpose-built Jewel House of 1841. This new Jewel House proved unsatisfactory - it was damp and insufficiently protected against theft and fire - and in 1869 the collection moved to the Wakefield Tower
