The Duke and Duchess of York on their honeymoon at Polesden Lacey in Surrey. Prince Albert, Duke of York married Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon on 26 April 1923. The Duke later became King George VI on the abdication of his brother King Edward VIII in 1936, with Elizabeth as his Queen Consort. King George VI and Queen Elizabeth were the parents of Queen Elizabeth II
