Gentleman's coatee, 1936
Gentleman's coatee (detail) of dark blue cloth embroidered in couched and gold thread with an Oakleaf pattern. The buttons are gilded and bear the Royal Arms with Supporters. The uniform belonged to the Rt Hon Malcolm Macdonald, who was made a Privy Counsellor in 1935. He was elected MP for Ross and Cromarty, Inverness in 1936 and held the seat until 1945
