The Japan Room, Frogmore House
Frogmore House was purchased for King George III's wife, Queen Charlotte, in 1792 and was used as a country retreat. The lacquer panels in the Japan Room were painted their daughter, Princess Elizabeth. This illustration was published in W H Pyne's The History of the Royal Residences, which appeared in three volumes in 1819, depicting the royal palaces as they appeared in the reign of King George III (1760-1820)
