The Chapel Royal of St Peter ad Vincula. Memorial to Catherine Howard. Catherine Howard, King Henry VIII's fifth wife, was executed on Tower Green in 1542; her headless body buried quickly in the Chapel without any memorial. Her remains were unearthed in the chancel in 1876 and were reburied beneath a new marble pavement in which was inserted her name and coat of arms
