Lord Bute dispenses pensions from the back board as the chaise, drawn by Pride and Obstinacy, rolls over the Magna Carta and Constitution. America burns in the distance. The print is a biting criticism of the King's mismanagement of his ministers; he is shown riding roughshod over the national interests of the country
