Prince Frederick Augustus, Duke of York and Albany

Prince Frederick (1763-1827), was the second son of~George III~and~Queen Charlotte. On 27 February 1764 he was created Bishop of Osnaburg through the influence of his father as Elector of Hanover. In this portrait he wears the Garter robes over a satin suit modelled on the suits worn by the sitters in Van Dyck's portraits
