Queen Victoria Longest Reign brooch, c1896

Enamel and bronze brooch with the royal cypher of Queen Victoria (1837-1901), her coat of arms and the words The Longest Reign'. In 1896, Queen Victoria surpassed her predecessor, King George III (1760-1820), as the longest-reigning monarch in British history. On 9 September 2015, Queen Elizabeth II claimed the title when she surpassed the reign of her great great grandmother Victoria
