The rise of India Stock, & Sinking fund of Oppression, 1784

King George III cuts down the Fox-North coalition, who fall into the Mire of Opposition. He cries out To preserve Justice, villainy must fall'. The King intervened to stop the government from passing the India Bill, which proposed to bring the wealthy and corrupt East India Company under tighter control. Fox's opponents saw this as his attempt to access the vast wealth of the company. The King's actions were viewed by many as a controversial exercise of royal power
