Sir Thomas More
In this picture Sir Thomas More (1478-1535) bids a final farewell to his daughter, Margaret Roper. More was imprisoned in the Tower of London in 1534 for refusing to accept King Henry VIII as Supreme Head of the Church of England. He was beheaded on Tower Hill in 1535
