Wakefield Tower, jewel cage, plans, Tower of London

Ink and wash drawing showing a design for a cage to house the Crown Jewels, including a plan, elevation and details of the iron shutter mechanism. The Crown Jewels have been displayed in various locations around the Tower of London, including in the Wakefield Tower between 1870 and 1967. When first displayed in the Wakefield Tower the jewels were kept in a cage designed by Messers Brown and Downing of Birmingham
