Design for the Regalia strong room in the Wakefield Tower. Showing an elevation, section and details. The Crown Jewels have been displayed in various locations around the Tower of London, including in the Wakefield Tower between 1870 and 1967. In 1910-11 the original Victorian cage made by Messers Brown and Downing of Birmingham was replaced with this highly secure strong room. This drawing shows an elevation of one bay of the strong room, two sections through the structure and details of the bronze decorative ornament
